The Supreme Court has reaffirmed Edozie Njoku, as the National Chairman of the All Progressives Grand Alliance, APGA.
The apex court made the pronouncement in a judgement on an application by Njoku, wherein he sought the regularization of the amended judgment of Justice Mary Peter Odili delivered on May 9, 2022.
Njoku’s motion followed a letter by the Apex Court to him on January 19, 2023, in which the Court addressed him as the National Chairman of APGA and advised him to approach the Court by way of a motion for the regularization of the amended Judgment of Justice Ukaego Mary Peter Odili on May 9, 2022.
Njoku had approached the Apex court pursuant to Order 8 Rule 16 of the Supreme Court Rules and the inherent powers of the Court, to correct a typographical error and slip in the Lead Judgment of the Court in the Appeal presided over by and delivered by Justice Mary Ukaego Peter-Odili (Rtd), on October 14, 2021.
The accidental slip which was corrected by the Supreme Court has restored Njoku as the actual National Chairman of APGA, which was wrongfully removed by a Jigawa High Court in a suit between Garba Aliyu and Jude Okeke & 2 Ors.
