The Bayelsa State Governor, Douye Diri has described his victory at the supreme court as victory for the rule of law, democracy and Bayelsa State.

The Governor spoke to journalists after he was given a rousing welcome from Abuja by the people in Yenagoa, following the Supreme court dismissal of an appeal filed by the Advanced Nigeria Democratic Party and three others against his election as governor of Bayelsa State.

The atmosphere at Igbogene axis of Yenagoa could best be described as jubilant.

This was as Bayelsans awaited the arrival of Governor Douye Diri from Abuja after the supreme court reaffirmed his Governorship Status.

The celebration train moved through the major roads of Yenagoa and terminated at the King of Glory Chapel in the Bayelsa State Government house.
