Family of the leader of Indigenous People of Biafra, IPOB, Nnamdi Kanu has decried the Supreme Court’s delay in release of the Certified True Copy, CTC of its judgement on Kanu’s matter.

The Supreme Court had on December 15, 2023, set aside the ruling of the Appeal Court which had in it’s earlier verdict, set the IPOB free from the terrorism charges against him by the Federal Government.

The IPOB leader’s family member, Kanunta Kanu said in a statement that the non-release of the CTC by the Supreme Court, will jeopardise further legal moves the family could have taken.

Kanu in the statement said investigations revealed that the Justices of the apex court who sat on the matter, were yet to append their signatures on the judgement, weeks after it was delivered. The family therefore urged the Supreme Court to release the CTC of Kanu’s case to enable them explore other options.

The Supreme Court had faulted the decision of the Court of Appeal which directed the stoppage of the criminal trial of Nnamdi Kanu and ordered his immediate release

A five-member appeal panel of apex justices ruled that the decision of the Court of Appeal violated legal procedure.
