Three years after 121 Students were abducted from Baptist High School, Damishi, survivors and their families gathered at a special church convention to give thanks for their rescue.

The event, held in Kaduna, reflects on their ordeal and the resilience that carried them through.

Three years ago, the night of July 4, 2021, turned into a nightmare for 121 students of Baptist High School, Damishi. Armed men stormed their school, abducting them into the darkness, leaving their families in anguish and their futures uncertain.

For weeks, the students endured hunger, fear, and brutality in captivity. Some were released in batches, while others spent months in the hands of their captors. But today, their story is one of survival, faith, and gratitude.

It was a moment of healing, a testament to resilience, and a reminder of the power of faith.

In response to the traumatic event, the school has been relocated to a safer environment, ensuring such an ordeal never happens again.

The Kaduna State government has also pledged to create a more secure learning atmosphere for children, recognizing the urgent need to protect schools from further attacks.
