One suspected bandit has died on admission, following injuries sustained from a mob action, by some residents of Malumfashi area council of Katsina state.
Katsina State police spokesman, Gambo Isah, made this known in a statement.
He said men of the command also foiled a bandit attack, recovering 120 rustled cows at Fararu Hamlet, Birchi ward of Kurfi area council.
The statement said, on November 27 at about 1: 30am, 3 armed robbers attacked the house of one Alhaji Hari Bello with dangerous weapons.
As a result, they injured two of his children who raised alarm for help, which eventually came their way.
It further added that, the hoodlums were pursued and one of the robbers was apprehended and severely beaten by the angry crowd.
Isah added that the police evacuated both the injured hoodlum and the victims to Malumfashi general hospital for treatment, though, the victims were treated and discharged, the robber, however, died on admission, while a wooden toy rifle was recovered from him.

Similarly, the police spokesman said, on November 28 at about 1:am, the district police officer in Kurfi, received a distress call that bandits numbering about 15, riding on motorcycles, armed with AK 47 rifles, shooting sporadically, were attacking a hamlet in the Kurfi area council.
Isah said, upon receipt of the call, the divisional police officer, DPO led ‘Operation Puff Adder’ and laid siege in a possible escape route of the bandits at Tashan Bara’u village and cattle route.
He said fortunately, the bandits followed through the route and the police team engaged them in a gun duel and dislodged the bandits and recovered all the 120 cows rustled.
The police image maker said, search parties are currently combing the area with a view to arresting and, or recovering the dead bodies of the injured bandits.
