Vigilante Operatives have killed one Suspected Armed bandit at the Tsaune community in the Gusau Local Government Area of Zamfara State, Northwest Nigeria.
The bandits were said to have stormed the community at about 1:24 P M Monday, the 25th of December, 2023
A resident of the area told ait.live that the bandits did not abduct anyone in the troubled community, however, the vigilante operatives and members of the community confronted them, killing one while others escaped.
He said, the bandits who were well-armed entered the community and went to the house of a Customs officer identified as Babangida, that was where the vigilante operatives noticed them and opened fire and killed one of them while the rest took to their heels, and escaped.
The Public Relations Officer, of the Zamfara State Police Command Assistant Superintendent Yazid Abubakar, confirmed the incident and however said the police have commenced an investigation to ascertain the true picture of the situation.
Some parts of Gusau Metropolis have come under armed bandits invasion in recent times, despite efforts by the police and other security agencies to flush them out of the Zamfara State.
