Suspected armed robbers in the early hours of Monday reportedly invaded the residence of the Parish Priest of St. Augustine’s Catholic Church Parish Demekpe, in Makurdi, the Benue State capital.
The robbers made away with the priests valuables including phone, ATM cards, clothes, laptop and unspecified amount of money.
The Police Public Relations Officer, Sewuese Anene who confirmed the incident said the case had been reported to the division and investigation has begun.
Fr. Mfa Mdooyongo Solomon was allegedly forced into the toilet with the robbers shooting sporadically as they escaped with their loot.
