Suspected terrorists have blocked the Funtua-Gusau Highway and abducted an unspecified number of travellers in broad daylight.
An eyewitness said commuters have been stranded around Tazame area of the highway where the gunmen mounted a roadblock.
The suspected terrorists who were said to be about 50 in number came on motorcycles, with each usually carrying three persons.
They arrived there at about 7am and operated for about two hours, forcing other road users to halt their journey and wait for the military to drive the criminals away.
When contacted, the Public Relations Officer of Zamfara State Police Command, Yazid Abubakar could not confirm the incident, but said he would find out and revert.
