Suspended Nigerian female Senator, Natasha Akpoti-Uduaghan, has officially notified the Inspector-General of Police of her resumption of legislative duties at the National Assembly following a Federal High Court judgment in her favour.
In a letter addressed to the Police Chief and acknowledged by the Force Headquarters’ Department of Finance and Administration, Senator Akpoti-Uduaghan referenced the Court ruling, which described her suspension as excessive and outside the constitutional powers of the Senate.
She is scheduled to resume her legislative responsibilities on Tuesday, July 22nd, 2025.

The Kogi Central district lawmaker, who cited the security implications often associated with high-profile political decisions, requested the immediate restoration of her official Police protection to enable her carry out her constitutional duties without hindrance.
She also attached a Certified True Copy of the Court judgment for the Inspector-General’s reference, drawing attention specifically to Order 12 of the ruling.
Senator Natasha expressed confidence in the Police Force’s commitment to upholding the rule of law and ensuring the safety of public office holders and citizens alike.
