The Police in the Swedish city of Malmo have arrested a man who burnt a copy of the Koran on Wednesday.
The man has been taken into custody and will be charged with intent to cause disaffection towards a minority group, even as there are calls for him to be charged with hate.
The man said to be of Iraqi descent, had obtained the nod of a court to express his “freedom of speech,” and then carried out the act.
Expressing its displeasure, Morocco has recalled its ambassador to Sweden over the incident, and the European country’s ambassador in Rabat has been summoned by the Moroccan Foreign Ministry.
This is according to a statement from the Moroccan Foreign Ministry obtained by AIT from the Morrocan News Agency, the MAP.
