As part of measures to encourage young talents in various fields the Benue state government has introduced creative talent development for pupils of public schools to allow them early state talent development and presentation in the country’s fast growing creative industry.
State Governor Hyacinth Alia represented by the Executive Chairman, Benue State Universal Basic Education Boards, Grace Adagba who unveiled the maiden edition says, besides academic excellence, the need to support pupils with dancing, singing and sporting skills is now imperative
Pupils from public primary schools across the state who have exhibited talents in dancing, singing and sports, but do not get sponsorsorship now have the opportunity at the Benue state universal basic education board headquarters in Makurdi as the maiden edition of the Benue state public schools talent hunt opens.
It began with the singing competition.

Officials say talents discovered, will be mentored and given the right to presentation under the partnership agreement between the state government and arts of Benue origin.
Aimed at complimenting academic excellence for pupils, the initiative is another step by the Governor Hyacinth Alia administration geared towards providing Benue with a ready alternative in Nigeria’s evolving creative industry.
