Taraba APC Rally: Gov Kefas Says Defection Is A Mission, Not An Ambition

Taraba State Governor Agbu Kefas says his decision to defect from the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) to the All Progressives Congress (APC) is not driven by ambition, but a mission for development and the good of Taraba people.

Governor Agbu Kefas was speaking at a defection rally in Jalingo, where he was welcomed into the party by Nigeria’s Vice President Kashim Shettima.

Taraba State Governor Agbu Kefas was received into the All Progressives Congress APC by Vice President Kashim Shettima at a rally in the Jolly Nyame Stadium Jalingo.

Political stalwarts at the State and national levels of the party attended the event which marks a major shift in Taraba’s political landscape since the return of democracy in 1999.

Vice President Kashim Shettima said the nation is proud of Taraba State Governor for his development drive, and inclusivity in governance.

The vice president welcomed Governor Kefas and Taraba State into the APC fold, saying that it is a political party for development minded people.

The national chairman of the APC, Professor Nentawe Yilwatda said the mass defection is the best alignment for Taraba State, highlighting that old and new members have equal opportunities in the Party.

Taraba State Governor Agbu Kefas said his defection is for the good of his people, driven by a mission not an ambition, with a purpose to deliver development to Taraba people.

The defection rally was attended by APC Governors, members of the national assembly, and ministers among other APC leaders.
