Younger sister to the Governor of Taraba State, Agbu Kefas has succumbed to gunshot injuries, sustained in accidental discharge from a security operative attached to her.
Reports indicate that Atsi Kefas was in transit from Wukari Local Government Area alongside the Governor’s mother, when there was attempt to attack their vehicle by suspected bandits, and in an effort to repel the attack, the security operative attached to the duo accidentally shot her.
The incident is reported to have happened between the Wukari-Kente Road in Wukari LGA.
Since the event which happened on Thursday December 5, it is gathered that the victim was moved from the University Teaching Hospital in Wukari, to an undisclosed hospital in the Federal Capital Territory Abuja, where she was receiving treatment until the news of her demise came in the early hours of Tuesday, December 10.
No official statement has been issued on the incident, but the social media space has been flooded with condolence messages to Governor Agbu Kefas, and his family over the loss.
