Taraba State Governor Darius Ishaku says, the newly elected Local Government Council Chairmen will be given targets to ensure that they perform optimally.
The Governor was speaking at the swearing-in ceremony of the elected Local Government Chairmen in Takum Local Government Area which is his hometown. The inauguration came barely 24 hours after the declaration of election results by the Taraba State Independent Electoral Commission.
Governor Ishaku tasked the elected chairmen to be magnanimous in victory, and reminded them that their election is a burden to deliver the dividends of democracy to the people.
The ruling Peoples Democratic Party, PDP in Taraba State recorded a landslide victory in the election, an outcome which the Party Chairman, Victor Kona says was expected.

Taraba State Government says it will continue to accord priority to Local Government administration, to ensure rapid development of the rural areas.
