Taraba State Governor Agbu Kefas has flagged off the training of 100 youths in the use of the hydraform block moulding machine: for the construction of public schools.
The project is expected to go round the sixteen Local Government Areas of the State within a time frame of six months.
The Taraba State Government has already acquired forty-five machines from South Africa for the block moulding technology, to complement the free education policy that has resulted in rapid increase in the number of pupils and students in public schools
Governor Agbu Kefas launched the newly acquired machines, and also flagged off the Taraba Young Professionals forum: a platform that recruits youths to be tutored in the use of the hydraform machines with 100 youths as the Pioneer trainees.
Governor Kefas said the project will lay a foundation for the future of Taraba children with access to quality education to flourish and thrive.
He also noted the empowerment opportunities that comes with the project, as the services of trained Taraba youths will be engaged in all stages.
The State Commissioner For Education Augustina Godwin said the project opens a new chapter in the development and rejuvenation of education in Taraba State, elevating the sector to world class standards.
The Country Director of the block moulding company Abdulhakim Usman said the technology is environment friendly, and cost effective.
The hydraform technology is known for the use of clay to mould blocks known as the red bricks.
