The Peoples Democratic Party, PDP in Taraba State has hailed the judgement by the Federal High Court sacking Emmanuel Bwacha as the Senator representing Taraba South in the National Assembly, for defecting to the All Progressives Congress, APC.

Taraba APC says it will appeal the judgement, and the party will not be distracted by the judgement.

The Peoples Democratic Party in Taraba State filed a  case against the Senator representing Taraba South in the National Assembly, Emmanuel Bwacha, asking the court to sack him because he was elected on the platform of the PDP, but later defected to the APC.

In a judgement delivered by Justice Simon Amobeda of the Federal High Court, the court directed the Senator to vacate his seat as Senator.

The judgement was hailed by the Taraba PDP, which says all politicians elected into office on the platform of the party, who have defected to other political parties, will also be charged in court.

The All Progressives Congress in Taraba State says it is not deterred by the court judgement, as the party remains unshaken.

The party adds that it will seek redress from a court of higher jurisdiction.

With few months to the 2023 General Election, the political scene has continued to record twists, which will likely set a new direction in Taraba politics.
