The Taraba State House of Assembly has passed the 2022 budget of the State into law with an upward review of N3 billion.
The Speaker of the House of Assembly, Joseph Kunini said the increment in the budget is in line with the economic realities and to achieve the goals of the budget.
Taraba State Governor Darius Ishaku had on November 19 presented a 2022 budget estimate of N146.6 billion to the State legislature for consideration.
Three weeks after, the state lawmakers passed the budget into law, jerking it up with the sum of 3 billion Naira; increasing the size of the budget from N146.7 to N149.7 billion.
The 3 billion Naira addition was made on the capital expenditure.

The Speaker Taraba State House of Assembly, Joseph Kunini, said the N3 billion increment is to ensure effective implementation of the budget to service Taraba people.
The Speaker added that the budget could still be subjected to review, if it gets affected by other economic indices, such as the new wave of the covid-19.
The State Assembly however highlighted the need to block leakages in the system and shore up the State Internally Generated Revenue, IGR.
