Taraba State Governor, Agbu Kefas

The All Progressives Congress (APC) in Taraba State is eagerly awaiting the official defection of Governor Agbu Kefas from the opposition Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) to Nigeria’s ruling party at the centre, APC.

The big event according to close sources may hold in January 2026, after the Governor suspended the defection rally in November 2025.

The Chairman of the APC in Taraba State, Ibrahim Elsudi made this known to Journalists at a Press conference in Jalingo.

The All Progressives Congress in Taraba State is emphatic that the State Governor, Agbu Kefas will still join the party, despite the rescheduling of his defection rally in November, due to the abduction of the Kebbi school girls.

Elsudi announced that all is set within the Taraba APC to receive the Governor.

Also, the Party lifted the suspension order placed on a member of the State House of Assembly, Abel Diah, representing Mbamnga Constituency, who was suspended by his ward executives for anti-party activities.

It will be recalled that ahead of the initial November 2025 date scheduled for the Taraba State Governor’s planned fornal defection to the APC, key figures in Government including all members of the State Executive Council, the Speaker and all the members of the State House of Assembly, as well as Local Government Chairmen and several senior government functionaries had announced their defection to the APC.
