Taraba State Government has imposed a 24-hour curfew on Jalingo the State capital to forestall further breakdown of law and order.
This was announced in a broadcast by the deputy governor of Taraba State Haruna Manu, following the vandalization of the State-owned warehouse and looting of essential commodities.
The deputy governor says the looted items were stored for onward distribution as Covid-19 palliatives, and relief materials to internally displaced persons in the State.
Deputy governor, Manu, expressed concern that the situation was degenerating into serious crisis with the vandalization of government property, and attack on innocent citizens, therefore the curfew is necessary to restore calm.
