Taraba State government has signed a memorandum of understanding (MOU) with a renowned Chinese firm to generate hydro-electricity for the state and also develop the state’s master plan.
The State Governor Agbu Kefas says the MOU will also cover infrastructural development, food security and economic growth.
The meeting between the State Government delegation led by the State Governor and representatives of the Chinese firm China Civil Engineering Construction Corporation CCECC is a follow-up to the Governor’s visit to China to seek investment collaboration.
The elated Governor Kefas said he is leveraging on the electricity act of 2023 to address the constant shortage of electricity in the state through hydro-power generation.

The Governor is optimistic that the partnership will pave the way for a better future for the people of Taraba State.
The Chief Executive Director of the Chinese firm Zhou Dongpin said the collaboration is a remarkable step towards the development of Taraba State, adding that the company has keyed into the purpose of the partnership.
The meeting which was attended by State lawmakers, senators, traditional rulers and other stakeholders, was sealed with the signing of the MOU.
