Taraba State Government has flagged off a Contributory Health Insurance Scheme in the state.
Governor Darius Ishaku described the move as efforts to provide affordable and quality healthcare services to the citizens.
He urged the people to enroll for the scheme so as to have access to standard and cheap healthcare services.
Governor Ishaku noted that Taraba State Contributory Health Insurance Scheme is aimed at the poor and less privileged in the state, with the best, yet affordable healthcare services, and called on residents to enroll for the scheme, irrespective of financial or social status.
He added that government is committed to having a primary healthcare centre, in every ward of the state.

So far, 97 out of 164 wards have primary healthcare centres, to meet the health needs of people in rural areas.
