Taraba State Government says it is committed to public-private partnerships that will provide succour to underserved communities in the face of economic difficulties in the country.

This was made known at the flag-off of the distribution of 20,000 bags of rice to the poor and vulnerable, by the State Government in partnership with the private sector.

With the harsh economic realities faced in many Nigerian homes, affording proper meals is proving to be difficult, leading to widespread hunger, and an increase in cases of house burgling.

In Taraba State, the Government continues to seek palliatives and long term measures to cushion the effect of economic hardship among citizens.

The latest of these efforts is a partnership between the government and the private sector to provide poor homes in the State with 20,000 bags of rice.

The distribution was launched by the Chairman of the Taraba State Committee on Relief Sale Sa’ad in Jalingo, the State capital.

Sa’ad said the Committee will see to the fair distribution of the rice to the targeted beneficiaries, adding that the State Government is open to more partnerships that will cushion the effect of economic difficulties amongt the poor.
