Taraba State: World Bank partnership to execute 171 micro projects in rural communities

The Taraba State Government, in partnership with the World Bank is set to execute 171 microprojects in the Southern Zone of the state.

The projects are part of the Nigeria COVID-19 Action Recovery and Economic Stimulus Programme, (NG-CARES), and will be implemented by the Taraba State Community and Social Development Agency, (CSDA).

Members of the Community Project Management Committees across the 62 communities in the six local government areas that comprise Southern Taraba State, converged on Wukari Local Government Area, to witness the project launch, which signals the disbursement of funds to the communities by the Taraba State Government, in partnership with the World Bank, for the implementation of the microprojects in the water, health, education and environment sectors.

The project was launched by Taraba State Governor Agbu Kefas, represented by the Commissioner for Commerce and Industry, Peter George.

The General Manager of the Taraba State Community and Social Development Agency, Sakunga Galumje said the agency has a record of development interventions in rural areas and promised more success stories are on the way.
