Taraba State government says it will continue to provide the needed support to security agencies in the state, to promote synergy among them in their responsibilities of safeguarding the lives and property of citizens.
Governor Agbu Kefas made this known when he was speaking at a multi-agency capacity-building training, organised by the 6 Brigade of the Nigerian Army in Jalingo, to enhance the operational skills of security personnel in the state.
The capacity-building training by the 6 Brigade of the Nigerian Army for multi-security agencies in Taraba State, focuses on weapon building, basic first aid, and advanced drivers’ retraining and maintenance skills.
The training, which has participants drawn from the various security agencies in the state, will equip security personnel with knowledge to tackle evolving security challenges, in the wake of resurfacing incidents of insecurity in the state.
The event was declared open by Taraba State Governor Agbu Kefas, represented by the Secretary to the State Government, Gebon Kataps, who pointed out the need for such collaborative efforts between security agencies, to ensure the safety of citizens.
He noted that the timing of the training was strategic in strengthening the security architecture of the state, and assured that the Taraba State Government will continue to support security agencies in the state, to enhance their duties of protecting the lives and property of citizens.
The Commander 6 Brigade of the Nigerian Army, and Sector 3 Operation Whirl Stroke, Brigadier General Kingsley Uwa, said the training is in line with the Chief of Army Staff’s vision, to have a combat-ready force that can fulfil its duties, within a joint and multi-agency environment.
Brigadier General Uwa said the training targets areas that are critical to operational preparedness.
