Forty eight hours after the Police Command in Kano released a statement, banning any form of protest in the state; a new video surfaced on the internet on Saturday, showing protesters clashing with the Police in yet to be identified location within the state.

In the viral video, smokes of burning tires were seen in the air while unidentified youths were also seen throwing objects around. AIT is yet to authenticate the video.

Solders have taken up positions in strategic positions in the city with the prople moving freely amidst the tensions

On Thursday, the Kano state Police released a statement warning the two dominant parties in the state, the APC and NNPP to desist from holding any form of protest or procession as that could cause unrest in the state.

No response has been received from the Police when our correspondent put a phone call through to the Public Relations officer.

However, the Kano state commissioner for information and internal affairs, Baba

Dantiye has called on residents to desist from any form of protest adding that, the governor Abba Yusuf is a peaceful leader who has allowed the law to take its cause as he approaches the Supreme Court.

The commissioner also alleged that the opposition could be sponsoring miscreants to give an impression that the ruling NNPP in the state is responsible for breaching the existing peace in the state.
