No fewer than 100 female orphans who lost their parents to terrorist attacks in Mariga Local Government Area of Niger State, North-Central Nigeria are to be given out in marriage by the Speaker of the House of Assembly, Abdulmalik Sarkin-Daji.

The Speaker who stated this in Minna, the State capitol said that they were carefully selected out of the 170 earlier gathered to ensure that only genuine ones among them benefit from the gesture.

On why he decided to embark on this gesture, the Speaker maintained that it was done with the best of intentions and as a way of bringing back to society to ameliorate the sufferings of the poor.

Sarkin-Daji explained that Niger State Governor, Umar Bago and the Sarkin Sudan of Kontagora, Mohammed Barau would serve as the guardians that will give the female orphans out in marriage.

According to him the Kano State Commander-General of Hisbah Board, Aminu Daurawa, is expected to attend the event slated for May 24 at Bangi, the headquarters of Mariga Local Government Area.

The Speaker said he has already procured all the necessary materials needed for proper marriage, to the 100 female orphans for their comfort at home like any other children of the well-to-do persons.

Similarly, he said he would also pay the dowries for the bridegroom to make the marriage more seamless, result-oriented and devoid of hitches.

He therefore calls on well-to-do persons in the society to always assist the poor, especially in this trying moments to attract the blessings of Allah.
