No fewer than 5 persons, including 2 soldiers and 3 villagers, were injured as terrorists operating around the Jibiya border forest area in Katsina State launched a another attack on the community.
The attack which occurred at Magamar-Jibiya saw terrorists in their numbers armed with sophisticated guns, including AK 47 rifles, abduct 3 other persons who were later rescued by the police.
Confirming the incident, spokesman of the police in the state, Abubakar-Sadiq Aliyu revealed that the police had earlier deployed a team of officers to the scene, where they repelled the attack and rescued the three abducted persons unhurt.
He added that those rescued were immediately rushed to hospital for treatment, and the command is working hard to fish out the perpetrators of the dastardly act.
Similarly, in the early hours of Wednesday, September 4, a source confirmed that a gang of terrorists attacked people along the Katsina-Jibiya highway where many of them were reportedly neutralised during an encounter with army personnel.
It was gathered that, although an AK 47 rifle and a motorcycle were recovered from the terrorists, 2 soldiers and 3 others sustained varying degrees of injuries.
