Terrorists operating in the forest area of Mariga local government area of Niger State, North-Central Nigeria have launched a fresh attack abducting no fewer than 20 persons along the Mariga-Kontagora Road.
This is coming a few days after both the military and a member of the State House of Assembly representing Kontagora II Constituency, Abdullahi Isah, gave conflicting reports to the taking over of the largest military training camp located at Nagwamatse.
This time, the member representing the Mariga State Constituency and Assembly Speaker, Abdulmalik Sarkin-Daji, confirmed the abduction of 20 passengers in five vehicles along the Maiga-Kontagora Road.

According to him, the terrorists had blocked the Mariga-Kontagora Road between Baban-Lamba and Beri on Thursday to carry out the operation.
The Speaker, while commenting on the recent statement by the military denying terrorists take over of their training ground, urged them to act on accurate information and clear the terrorists from the area.
Sarkin-Daji underlined that they thoroughly research issues before bringing them before the Assembly because, in their capacity as representatives, they frequently receive inputs from their people regarding their difficulties.
