Terrorists who reportedly blocked the road leading to farms at Wanzamai village along Gusau-Funtua Highway have abducted 83 persons in Tsafe Local Government Area of Zamfara State, North-West Nigeria.

Locals said the terrorists invaded the village with sophisticated weapons shooting sporadically as they abducted the 83 victims during the operation. Those abducted are mostly females between the ages of 13 and 25.

Sources also said the terrorists had engaged in a gun battle with the troops deployed to Wanzamai village to protect the residents, thereby leaving some of the terrorists with injuries. The troops had killed four of the terrorists and left several others with injuries as a result of their firepower.

Consequently, the terrorists mobilized their partners from the Munhaye, Magazu, and another terrorist enclave on a revenge mission in the troubled village where they succeeded in abducting 83 persons.

The Zamfara State Police Public Relations Officer, Chief Superintendent, Mohammed Shehu did not confirm but said he will investigate reports about the incident and get back to AIT.live.
