Terrorists have kidnapped another Catholic priest, Reverend Father Emmanuel Silas at Zambina, in Kauru Local Government Area of Kaduna State.

This was contained in a statement signed by the Chancellor of Catholic Diocese of Kafanchan, Reverend. Father Emmanuel Okolo.

According to the statement, Reverend Father Silas was abducted from the parish rectory at Saint Charles Catholic church, Zambina in the early hours of Monday when it was discovered he did not turn up for the morning Mass.

The chancellor solicits for intense prayer for the quick and safe release of the Catholic priest and called on all and sundry to refrain from taking the laws into their hands.

He said that the church will use every legitimate means to secure the release of the priest.

This is the second priest that would be abducted in Kaduna in the last two weeks and the fourth to be abducted in one year.

Recalled that late Reverend Father Vitus Borogo was killed by terrorists on his farm in Kujama, along Kaduna-Kachia Road on June 25, 2022 and was buried on June 30, 2022.

“May Jesus crucified on the Cross, listen to our prayers and hasten the unconditional release of His Priest and all other kidnapped persons.” he said.
