No fewer than eleven persons have been reportedly killed by suspected terrorists who attacked Ruwan-Bore and Gidan Zuma Villages at the Kortokoshi Emirate, in Bungudu Local Government Area of Zamfara State, Northwest Nigeria.
Locals said the terrorists stormed the villages at about 5:30 p.m. on Saturday, ridding on over one hundred and fifty motorcycles, and with heavy firearms. They were said to have shot sporadically, killing eleven members of the two separate villages.
According to the sources, five people who were injured are currently in the hospital receiving treatments.
Residents of the area also revealed that the terrorists abducted fifteen people into the bush, after conducting over two hours of operations in the two villages, before leaving with their victims unchallenged.
The villagers said they informed security agencies at the time of the attacks, but they arrived late when the terrorists had operated and left.
Kortokoshi Emirate, where the incident occurred, is a few kilometres away from Gusau metropolis, the Zamfara State capital, and not far away from Tsafe Local Government, which has been facing renewed terrorists attacks almost daily.
