The Police in Niger State have confirmed the death of a Divisional Police Officer DPO, Mohammed Umar, two other Officers, as well as four vigilante members during a gun battle with Terrorists at Nasko village, Magama local government in Niger State
According to a statement by the Police Public Relations Officer, Deputy Superintendent of Police, Wasiu Abiodun, during the encounter, the Joint Police/Vigilante team had neutralized an unspecified number of the terrorists before the unfortunate incident
The statement stressed that the Kontagora Area Commander had drafted reinforcement, with military personnel to the battlefield.

The Commissioner Of Police, Niger State Command, Bala Kuryas, has condoled with the families of the police officers and the vigilante members who lost their lives in the encounter.
Bala Kuryas has assured members of the public, that the command is committed to curbing the activities of terrorists across the state.
