Terrorists kill one, abduct 37 others as residents protest in Katsina

Terrorists operating in the forest area of Sabuwa Local Government Area in Katsina State launched a late-night attack on Tuesday killing one person and abducting 37 others.


A source in the area told ait.live that the abduction occurred in Yarkaka Gazari and Yar Lageada Maibakko wards. According to the source, at Yarkaka Gazari ward, 17 people were abducted, while at Yar Lagwada, 20 people were taken away, with one person killed.

He added that the terrorists stormed the area on motorcycles in commando style, wielding AK-47 rifles and shooting sporadically.

When contacted, Police spokesman Abubakar-Sadiq Aliyu, confirmed the incident and said details were still sketchy, Nigerian Air Force fighter jets were also seen moving in that direction at the time of this report.

Meanwhile, the residents of Musawa town in the Musawa Local Government Area blocked the highway in the area, protesting what they termed, incessant terrorist attacks, and called on the government to put an end to the insecurity
