Terrorists kill over 500 people in Southern Kaduna within three months

Kaduna State

Commander of Operation Safe Haven and General Officer Commanding, GOC, 3 Division of Nigerian Army, Major-General Abdulsalam Abubakar, has vowed to decisively deal with criminals perpetrating attacks leading to loss of lives and property in Southern Kaduna State, North-West Nigeria.

The Commander gave the commitment during engagement with key stakeholders from the five local government areas of Southern Kaduna over recurrence of isolated attacks and killings.

From June to September 2023, it was reported that over 500 people were killed by terrorists in coordinated attacks with the latest being a young Seminarian who was burnt to death at the Parish House of St. Raphael Catholic Church in Fadan Kamantan.

The Commander while sending warning to those behind the attacks said that multifaceted measures are being considered to ensure the area remains untenable for evil doers.

Representatives of various groups who spoke during the meeting that includes traditional rulers, Christian Association of Nigeria and Ja’amatul Nasiru Islam, JNI while speaking on the security challenges pledged to support the strategies of the Special Task Force in ending attacks on individuals and communities in the area.
