Terrorists operating in the forest area of Munya Local Government Area of Niger State, North-Central Nigeria on Friday night defied downpour and attacked the Kuchi community in Munya local government area of the state, killing no fewer than seven people.

According to a source in the area, among those killed were four members of the Joint Security Task Force stationed there and three villagers who attempted to escape into the bush, while about 200 villagers were abducted.

It was gathered that the terrorists numbering about 300 riding on about 100 motorcycles, invaded the community at about 7.00 pm and operated under the downpour for over three hours without resistance.

The source added that the terrorists went from house to house and selected those they wanted to go away with, including women and children, looting all the shops in the community and going away with all the goods and drinks.

This latest attack is coming barely two weeks after some gunmen ambushed and abducted 30 people from two commercial vehicles along Mangoro village, about 15 kilometres from Sarkin Pawa, the headquarters of the local.

The abducted passengers who are yet to regain their freedom were said to be returning from a local market and were heading to Kaduna State when the incident occurred.
