No fewer than six farmers were said to have been killed by terrorists while they were clearing their farmlands in the early hours of Monday in Faru community in Maradun Local Government Area of Zamfara State, North-West Nigeria.

According to eyewitness accounts, the terrorists stormed the farmlands of the farmers and began to fire sporadic gunshots, killing at least six farmers.

The terrorists have launched several attacks on farmers at Faru community killing score of them and vowed they would not allow farmers to carry out farming activities in their farmlands during this year’s rainy season.

Monday’s killing of farmers at Faru community provoked the youths who took to the streets protesting the incessant attacks and killing of innocent farmers without concrete security measures to stop the unwarranted attacks.

ait.live gathered that the mob set ablaze the residence of the Sole Administrator of Maradun Local Government Area and two other houses in the troubled area.

The angry youths want Government to take drastic measures to tackle the security challenges in the troubled area so that farmers could go to their farmlands without fear of being attack by terrorists.

It could be recalled that, about two weeks ago, terrorists launched an attack at Faru community, killing seven farmers, in the troubled area, who were carrying out farming activities, on their farmlands.
