The Niger state Police command is yet to confirm recent terrorist attack on 4 communities in Borgu local government area of the state, where no fewer than 30 persons were reportedly killed.
But sources within the communities said that the terrorists began the invasion of the communities in Feyi community in Borgu kingdom in the late hours of Thursday, before spreading the arson to other communities, including Tungan Makeri and Nkpaso villages.
It was also gathered that the terrorists came into the communities riding on several motorcycles, armed with sophisticated weapons and shooting sporadically to scare the villagers, thereby causing pandemonium among the people.
It was further gathered that the terrorists have continued to lay siege on Niger communities in Borgu Local Government Area in the past three days setting houses on fire in attacks that have reportedly resulted in the killing of no fewer than 30 people.

The terrorists were said to have later moved to other communities identified as Tungan Makeri and Nkpaso villages, both in Konkoso Ward of Borgu local government area, in the early hours of Saturday, killing no fewer than 20 people.
It was gathered that the terrorists also set the police station in Pissa ablaze, but later escaped into the forest upon hearing the sound of the helicopter, which was apparently moving towards their direction.
Several communities in the general area attacked by the terrorists are said to have been abandoned by their inhabitants due to incessant attacks by the terrorists, calling on the governments at all levels to, as a matter of urgency, come to their rescue.
Official statement and reactions are being awaited from either the security agencies or the Niger state government.
