TETFUND establishes another Covid-19 Testing Centre in Bauchi State

Governor Bala Mohammed of Bauchi state has called on the people of the state to ensure total adherence to all the protocols as the existence of the coronavirus is real.

Speaking On the plans of the Presidential Task Force on COVID-19 to lockdown Bauchi Local Government Area, the Governor expressed concern over the non-compliance by residents of the state with the Nigeria Centre for Disease Control ( NCDC) guidelines against COVID – 19.

The Tertiary Education Trust Fund (TetFUND) had established a testing Laboratory at the College of Medical Sciences of Abubakar Tafawa Balewa University Teaching Hospital (ATBUTH), making it the second laboratory in Bauchi to facilitate sample testing for COVID-19 infection and others.

While inspecting the laboratory, Governor Bala Mohammed had described its establishment as a welcome development and a tool for boosting government’s capacity on COVID-19 testing in the state.

The Vice Chancellor of Abubakar Tafawa Balewa University, Prof Muhammad Abdulaziz had commended the State Government for supporting the institution .

Acting Chief Medical Director of the Abubakar Tafawa Balewa University Teaching Hospital, Dr Saidu Abubakar, says the hospital is fully prepared to commence operations with a testing capacity of 300 samples in a day.

The hospital management then called on the people of Bauchi State to take advantage of the laboratory by coming out to be tested in order to know their COVID-19 status.
