Governor of Bayelsa State, Senator Douye Diri, has said his decision to defect from the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), to the All Progressives Congress (APC), was guided purely by personal conviction, stressing that the move did not strain his relationship with his late deputy, Senator Lawrence Ewhrudjakpo.
The Governor made the clarification while speaking at the January edition of the State Government Monthly Praise Night held at Government House, Yenagoa.
Governor Diri noted that at no point was there any plan by him to impeach his deputy, and that such a move could not have occurred without his consent.
He further reiterates that his administration remains focused on governance, emphasizing that consolidating development efforts across critical sectors is key to overcoming the State’s prevailing challenges.
