Bauchi State Police Personnel Enforcing Third-Party Vehicle Insurance Policy

Following directives on enforcement of the third-party vehicle insurance policy by Inspector-General of Police, IGP Kayode Adeolu Egbetokun, the Commissioner of Police Bauchi State Command, Auwal Muhammad has called on all Personnel to demonstrate professionalism and integrity throughout the process.

According to a statement, released by the Public Relations Officer, Ahmed Wakili, the initiative aligns with Section 68 of the Insurance Act and Sections 1, 2 – 3 of the Motor Vehicle (Third-Party Insurance) Act, which require all vehicle owners to secure a minimum of Third-Party Insurance before operating their vehicles on Nigerian roads.

The Commissioner of Police, Auwal Muhammad underscores the vital role that public trust and confidence play in the effectiveness of the Police Force.

Officers must maintain high standards of conduct, as any breaches will carry profound implications.

The Command encourages all vehicle owners in the state to ensure their insurance documents are current, contributing to a safer driving environment for everyone.

The police said to facilitate this enforcement, a dedicated team comprising Divisional Traffic Officers (DTOs), representatives from the National Union of Road Transport Workers (NURTW), and staff from the Bauchi State Internal Revenue Service will be actively involved.

CP Auwal said, by collaborating together, the policy will enhance road safety and effectively uphold the law for the benefits of the community.
