England manager Thomas Tuchel has named his squad for upcoming international matches against Wales and Latvia – with several surprise omissions.

The Three Lions will host Wales at Wembley in an international friendly on October 9, before resuming their World Cup qualifying campaign against Latvia on October 14.

Tuchel’s side have won all five of their qualifiers so far and victory over Latvia in Riga will see them seal an automatic spot in next year’s World Cup in the United States, Canada and Mexico.

Before that, the Wales fixture will carry special meaning as it is the fourth international charity match to raise money for the Alzheimer’s Society, which is England’s official charity partner.

The main concern from Tuchel’s squad selection is that Everton’s Jack Grealish was left out of the squad despite his superb start to the Premier League season.

Adam Wharton is also not involved despite his impressive form for Crystal Palace, while Phil Foden was also ignored

There is also no place for Jude Bellingham, though the Real Madrid star has only started one game since returning from a long-standing shoulder injury towards the end of last month.

Ruben Loftus-Cheek was given an edge in the midfield after receiving a late injury call-up to Tuchel’s last England squad.

And Bukayo Saka is back after missing the last international window with a hamstring injury

Noni Madueke and Tino Livramento are both injured and were drop from the squad.
