The Police in Anambra State, South East Nigeria has confirmed reports of the death of three students in a private hostel at the State owned University.
The three bodies were found in a single room apartment hostel located outside the premises of the Chukwuemeka Odimegwu Ojukwu University in Igbariam, about 30 kilometres from Awka, the State capital.
Police authorities have already identified the victims, but the cause of their death is yet unknown.
Some residents allege food poisoning, while others claim they have been murdered.

A statement by the Management of the institution observed that the University was not aware of the presence of any student after their examinations.
The Police in Awka say, it has opened investigation into the incident, while security has been beefed up in a the areas.
