Inspector-General of Police, Kayode Egbetokun has approved the extension of the grace period for enforcement of Tinted Glass Permit for vehicles to August 12, 2025.
This decision, according to the Force Headquarters, is in response to feedback and concerns from the public regarding the reactivation of the digital tinted permit application system.
The force said it is committed to transparent, inclusive, and citizen-focused policing — stressing that the voices of Nigerians have been instrumental in shaping ongoing improvements to the system.
It explained that the extension is to allow for further fine-tuning of the physical and contactless application processes.

The force had previously announced the enforcement of its reactivated Tinted Glass Permit system on Monday, 1st June 2025, concluding a 30-day grace period granted to drivers for compliance with the new regulations.
