Tinubu Approves N18 BN As Assurance Benefits To Families Of Late Army Officers

President Bola Tinubu has approved the sum of 18 billion naira for payment of assurance benefits and other entitlements to the families of service members of the Nigerian Armed Forces who lost their lives in the line of duty.

The President announced this during the launch of the 2024 emblem at the state house in Abuja on Wednesday.

Setting the tune of the event, President Bola Tinubu approved the sum and explained that it underscores his Government’s commitment to the welfare of those who put their lives on the line for the citizens and country.

The launch of the emblem saw high-ranking officers in the force and administration decorated.

The chief of defense staff, Christopher Musa, told State House correspondents that Men and women of the armed forces of Nigeria remained committed to the defence of the nation.

Other top government officials who had pledged various sums at the occasion said the works of the military are very much appreciated.

The event provided an opportunity for reflection on the price paid by the military for the continued unity of the country.
