President Bola Tinubu wants the new Board and Management of the Nigerian National Petroleum Company Limited, NNPCl, to ensure they have all the necessary basic amenities needed and more are provided for people of the Niger Delta Region.
The President gave the directive when he inaugurated the board and management team of the Nigerian National Petroleum Company Limited on Monday at the state house, Abuja.

President Tinubu charged the new management not to overlook corporate governance aside the current security challenges in the country.
The Non-Executive Board Chairman of the Nigerian National Petroleum Company Limited, NNPCL, Pius Akinyelure, told State House correspondents that they were very much aware of the challenges facing the sector and will do everything possible to tackle the situation.

The only female member of the board, Eunice Thomas, explained that their duty was well articulated to ensure Nigeria utilizes her energy sources judiciously.

The new board comprises Mele Kyari GCEO, Pius Akinyelure Chairman, including Umar Isa Ajiya as Chief Financial Officer; Ledum Mitee, Non-Executive Director; Musa Tumsa, Non-Executive Director; Ghali Muhammad, Non-Executive Director; Prof. Mustapha Aliyu Non-Executive Director, David Ogbodo — Non-Executive Director and Eunice Thomas Non Executive Director.
Section 59 sub-section 3 of the Petroleum Industry Act 2021 allows the Board and Management of the NNPCL a five year tenure.
