Tinubu’s chances brighten as other APC presidential aspirants step down for him

Seven aspirants have withdrawn from the race for the Presidential ticket of the ruling All Progressives Congress, APC, throwing their weight behind the candidacy of former Lagos Governor, Bola Ahmed Tinubu.

Former Governor of Akwa Ibom State, Godswill Akpabio leads the pack of those who withdrew from the race to boost the chances of Tinubu to clinch the ticket.

Others like former Ogun Governor, Ibikunle Amosun, incumbent Governor of Ekiti State, Kayode Fayemi and the Governor of Jigawa State, Abubakar Badaru followed in similar pattern.

Former House of Representatives Speaker, Dimeji Bankole and Senator from Ondo State, Ajayi Boroffice were among aspirants for also stepped down to support one-time Lagos Governor, Bola Tinubu

The only female APC presidential aspirant, Uju Kennedy Ohanenye also stepped down to support former Lagos Governor, Bola Tinubu to emerge as party’s candidate

The 2,322 delegates will however vote to decide who becomes the standard bearer of the ruling APC at the polls next year.
