Taraba State Deputy Governor, Haruna Manu says that the State will work towards the setting up of military bases in communities affected by the Tiv-Jukun crises on the border between Taraba and Benue States.
This is contained in a communique issued at the end of a meeting between Tiv and Jukun stakeholders in Jalingo, the Taraba State capital.
The meeting was another chance to broker peace between the conflicting factions. The meeting was at the instance of the Taraba State Government, under the supervision of the Deputy Governor Haruna Manu.
After hours of meeting behind closed doors to discuss a way out of the renewed conflict, a communique was issued, on how to end the lingering communal crisis.

The delegations from the Tiv and Jukun ethnic groups at the meeting were asked to immediately return home and interface with their people, on the agreements reached.
A 30-member committee with representatives from the Tiv and Jukun ethnic groups has also been set up to ensure quick implementation of the peace process.
