Nigerian female sprint hurdler, Tobi Amusan, stormed to victory in the women’s 100 metres hurdles at the Rabat Diamond League on Sunday, setting a new meet record of 12.45 seconds.
Amusan’s performance overshadowed the previous meet record of 12.51 seconds set by American Brianna McNeal in 2018, making it a standout achievement for the 2022 World Champion and record holder.
The race, which took place just before the main broadcast of the meet, saw Amusan dominate the field, pulling away decisively from the rest of the competitors. Her time of 12.45 seconds also stands as her season’s best
Behind Amusan was Nadine Visser of the Netherlands, who clocked a season’s best of 12.67 seconds to finish second. Poland’s Pia Skrzyszowska came third with a season’s best of 12.69 seconds.
