Tokyo 2020: Edo Deputy Gov slams Sports Minister over poor performance

Edo Government has commended the state’s Ambassador to the Tokyo 2020 Olympic games, Enoch Adegoke, for his outstanding performance at the games.

The Deputy Governor, Philip Shaibu made this commendation in Benin City.

He said he was certain that but for the unfortunate injury which prevented him from completing the final of the one hundred metres race, the least he would have gone with was a bronze medal.

The Deputy Governor also attributed Nigeria’s poor performance at the games to the lacklustre preparation by the relevant authorities.

He especially blamed the Minister of Youth and Sports Development, Sunday Dare.

Adegoke was given ten thousand dollars by the state government to boost his morale, and assured of an SUV upon victory at the race.
