Tosin Dokpesi listed among top 25 Most Powerful Women in Nigerian media

Managing Director of Africa Independent Television, AIT Oluwatosin Dokpesi has been listed among the top 25 powerful women journalists in Nigeria.

The list released by the Women in Journalism Africa has other female journalists in both the private and government owned media and cuts across broadcast, print and online media organisations.

Dokpesi was listed in the 2020 most powerful women journalists along with media entrepreneur, Mo Abudu and former editor of the defunct “The Sunday Magazine”, Chris Anyawu who was detained for 3 years under the repressive Abacha junta.

Others are CNN journalist, Kemi Busari; former NTA’s newscaster and Executive Director Programmes, Eugenia Abu; Managing Director of Arise News, Ijeoma Nwaogwugwu
as well as former Editor of the defunct 234 Next newspaper, Kadaria Ahmed.

Tosin Dokpesi who started her media career in the early 90s with Clapper Board in Lagos joined DAAR Communications PLC as a youth corps member and grew to make a name for herself with her incisive interviews as one of the pioneer anchors of the flagship breakfast show Kakaaki and the evening News Hour.

She has won several awards and has held a number of management positions in the media conglomerate
